No XQD is not there for the video only. its there for maximized performance overall.

for years there were the screams of anguish for the camera with the infinite buffer. essentially here you have it with an XQD card. so now there will be those who will settle for less. a 64GB 2933x Lexar XQD card costs $99 and that is 1300+ raw images per card and this is something to complain about?

use it with a SD card as the primary and you reduce its potential performance by a fair bit.

the D5 is the 200 shot king
the D500 is the jack of all trades at 100 shots.
