owning both and having both in my hand at the same time, i can say that the Batis is noticeably faster in focusing, completely silent and feels like a feather in comparison to the 85GM.

i guess this is just the world we live in, so i suppose it shouldn\'t rile me up the way it does (i.e. people repeatedly re-posting crap from 1 forum to another - sadly most of our \"news\" organizations do just about the same).
