I Found the culprit. Turn camera on with lens , get your iPhone out turn light on go to manual focus you will see 3 main groups of 2 slots that surround the inside of the lens where the lens travels back and forth. Now while your are moving the focusing ring inside those slots you will see a gear that rotates around the lens. See my 2 Vs look there and watch the ring. On mine I can clearly see bare metal and that is where the friction is happening. Now that I see that clearly mine is being returned as soon as my dealer has one. I also pointed them to this thread. Let us know what you are seeing folks. There is no scratches anywhere else the one lens we saw from Asia is not the same issue, thats damage somewhere else as I do not see anything but that gear as the culprit.
