I thought I\'d post a few from last night\'s walk in the bush with the 200-500 on my D7100 (vs the D750 it\'s usually mounted on). About 30 minutes before sunrise I was walking along the edge of a poorly lit trail, requiring dropping the shutter speed down to 1/250 to 1/500 to keep ISO at or below the max of 3200 I\'ll accept on the DX body. The birds were about 25-40 meters away and these are heavy crops, processed in LR CC with some noise reduction, sharpening etc... I still think this is the best VR of any lens in my kit.
While not up to the standards of many on this forum, I considered these \"keepers\" for my purposes... how about y\'all?
As for the bird.... I think it\'s a Rainbow Bee Eater, but I\'ll have to confirm that with a little more research (feel free to chime in if you know what it is....). On the third image, I focused on the far bird as its head and beak were in a better position, but not sure if I like the near field being out of focus.
