Re: Leica M/X/T/S/Q Picture Thread

I\'ve shot both on the street, A LOT. While I was in college in the early to mid 1980s I shot my first street work all in color. Color is just different way of seeing from seeing in B&W. With color you have an immediate connection with the viewer. B&W is an abstract. All photography for that matter is a bit abstract by it\'s very nature. Is two dimensional, it\'s a frozen moment in time. We don\'t experience life like that. It\'s 3 D and in fluid motion. Now if you add B&W to that you are even further from reality. I would argue that B&W needs to have that extra something to be really good. Almost every great movie director had done a film in B&W. As I said before color is just a different way of seeing. What matters is to find the right medium to express your vision and then learn how to use it to your visual advantage. Just like finding the right equipment to express that vision. Some see and work better in color. Some see and work better in B&W. They are very different seeing experiences.

I shoot color almost everyday in with my commercial work. I shoot for my pleasure and for me to express my vision in B&W. Now that may change at some time but this is the way I have been seeing and working (personal work) for well over 3 years now.
