This is a composite of two shots taken a few seconds apart. The left image has been flipped 180 degrees.
So this male was basically facing the same direction in both shots. It is just an example of how the male is able to direct his gorget to reflect his beautiful colour for the females. When the lighting is right and he is reflecting at the right angle, females can easily spot him a mile away.
