I found myself a new 50mm lens in the second-hand listings of a shop here in NZ - a Konica m-Hexanon 50mm which seems to have been a fairly unashamed copy of a Summicron F/2. Its a tiny but very solidly built lens, with beautiful performance wide open - much better than my Canon FDn 50 F/1.4. Stopped down to F/8 it has similar sharpness to the Loxia I compared it with, and very little behind a Sonnar 55mm in the centre, falling slightly behind around the periphery. Here are a few shots from usual test location - Hamilton Gardens - John.
