Few from Oregon

Hi All,
So I finally made it to Oregon. I\'ve been planning to go there for few years now, but always ended up going some place else, like Patagonia But last weekend I decided to visit the place and take some shots of the (by now) famous Japanese Maple Tree. My wife wanted it printed large, so I said sure, lets go.... we arrived and guess what? The place was closed (and will be until March 2016). I should\'ve checked that on their website, but who would guess that such a popular spot in the best time will be closed. So as angry as I was, I decided to use my time and do something else, and go see Washington a little bit as well as Oregon. The following shots are from both states...

1. This is one the best waterfall in WA I\'ve been to. It\'s hard to see but this is a huge waterfall. I walked all over the river (in my wanders) to got close to the place to frame the waterfall with just this tree to the left. That\'s it, simple but sure alluring imho. The waterfall is called \"Lower Lewis River Fall\", in case you want to visit it. And, by all means along the way stop to see Mt. St. Hellen. It\'s absolutely beautiful. I know it blew up in \'80 but it\'s growing again and looks great with all the snow etc.

2. This is already a very well known place and I saw someone won the thread by posting from this same location. Yeah, it\'s the Boardman and it\'s a really must visit spot.

3. Boardman again. I was after just silhouettes of the trees in the fog.

4. Columbia River Gorge area. This particular spot is from Oneonta Gorge. I walked the whole river all the way to the waterfall (again, in my wanders but I saw some people just walking in their normal clothes). Awesome experience and lots of opportunities for some amazing shots. Shooting into the Sun is always challenging so this is a 7 images blend done in PS using luminosity masking.

5. This is the Elowah Fall. It\'s about a mile hike but elevation will make it hard (especially when you cary lots of gear). It\'s maybe not the cleanest shot but I took it in a poring rain, wind, and huge moisture also coming from the waterfall.

Hope you like them. For a lot bigger versions see my website...
Peace,
Greg
