Romy, very nice heron and egret......sufficient sharpness, beautiful colours and bokeh and all that. However, in situations like this we also showcase our photographic skills, and not just gears alone. I\'ve never seen you post an average photo, let alone a poor one, regardless of the gears you used, for all those years that I have known you. I guess, that is just the way it is.

This is a little sampler of the 1DX + 400 DO II shots taken yesterday, the images which did not require much/any postprocessing so I could churn them out in minutes. These are falconry raptors owned and flown by a government licensed operator, and I have used those birds a number of times in the past for gear testing/comparisons and plain old fun. (One could also get wild owls etc. to fly towards the photographer if they are baited, however, I do not employ that method.)
