Re: A7RII and Canon lenses AF compatibility

Not sure what version of the Metabones IV adapter software I am using, I\'m assuming it is current (just purchased it last week but you can never be sure).

Put it on my 400 2.8 IS II. Worked well but when I put away the lens I heard it rattle (like something was loose). I assumed it was the image stabilization system but it never sounded like that, so I mounted it on my 6D, powered it up and then shut it down. Rattling sound went away.

Put it back on the A7R2 and Metabones. Rattling sound came back. Can\'t remember if I was exhaustive in testing, but turning off the body and then dismounting the lens does not \'dock/lock\' the IS on the lens, letting it rattle around. Presuming that isn\'t so good for the lens.

Will try to see if there is a work around sometime (like switching IS off on the lens before dismounting) but just wanted people to look out for this kind of behaviour. It might happen on other IS systems that you may not notice until bad things have happened. Guess I should report this to Metabones. Also have a commlite adapter but it didn\'t seem as good as the Metabones, but I will try to get around to testing out my lens adapter combos when I have time.

Sigmonster (non DG) worked with the Metabones (slowly) but not the commlite (racked focus, never locked). 800mm, 42 megapixel and IBIS. Yum.
