Epic Rising

OK, I really don\'t like to use the word \"epic\" as I feel it is over used these days but it really does apply in this situation. We\'ve been having crazy popup storms all week, funnel clouds, torrential rains and crazy skies. Today the skies were extraordinary and I couldn\'t pass them up. I headed out not really knowing where I would go and headed south. Along the way I decided, for a 3rd time, to see if the owners of property with a cool old truck and steel wheeled tractor were home. No luck again. So I left my card and hopefully they will get back to me. Moving on I thought maybe I could find some fields to shoot with but the area I was in wasn\'t great. Since I was half way to Buffalo Point if figured I\'d go there. I wasn\'t sure how things were going to play out as the sky can change so quickly. I have 2 options, south shore or north shore. Watching the skies as I got close I decided north shore was the place to go. Long story short the sky didn\'t go boom like I was hoping but this HUGE thunder head storm popped up out of nowhere. I quickly made it to a this spot in time to capture the most intense part of the \"explosion\". It was simply jaw dropping. There is even a hint of a rainbow to the right of the cloud. Shortly after this photo it started to drizzle so I decided time to pack up my gear and quickly head back to the car.

Multi-image pano shot with Sony A7r + Canon FDn 20/2.8 + Lee 0.9 GND + Lee 0.6 GND filters.
