Karl, That is one reason I got the S instead of the R version. I was originally going to try the R and see if it would be a problem but then I saw a review sites studio test image which had feathers in it and with the R version there was a lot more moiré. And since the S was available I decided to go with the S. I enjoy photographing birds but also landscapes and sometimes scenes with houses or buildings in them. If comparison reviews start popping up that show a large difference I hope they do in the next few weeks!
