Zeiss if you are reading this we need a 21mm Loxia.

Glad I\'ve sold you. I\'m not sure I\'ve sold myself yet. There is very heavy distortion that needs to be profile corrected. It affects edge sharpness, especially on the 21, but overall it\'s a pretty good package.
Isn\'t really a ton of other options though, unless you spend a lot of money and/or are willing to deal with a pretty big/heavy lens
I\'ve had all the various 20/21mm legacy lens options and while many do demonstrate less distortion, they show higher levels of CA, softer corners until about f11 etc.
Something like a Zeiss 21 works fantastic, but pretty big/heavy not to mention pricey. 16-35 FE is a great lens at the wider focal lengths, but again, little big and not cheap.
I guess the Batis 25 should be a decent option, splitting the difference between the 28/2 and 21 UWA, but still nearly double the price. 25mm might not be a bad option though as its wider than 28 but may not always feel quite wide enough.
You are right about the distortion though, it is pretty heavy, but might be less of an issue in landscape shots with fewer straight lines to make it apparent.
So far I think I\'m happier with mine than the FDn 20/2.8 and OM 21/3.5 I\'ve previous had. I did really like the small size of the Zuiko though, optically it did require about f8 minimum for good sharpness, lacked a bit of contrast and really I don\'t know if the edges where any better.
I personally don\'t shoot wide that often, so I think for me carrying the UWA in my bag makes more sense than carrying around something kind of bulky like the 20/2.8 with adapter.
I need to try the new VC 15/4.5 mkIII, as that could be a nice option, but then again, 15mm is W I D E! Maybe too wide for most of my shots, where I can work with 21mm a bit easier.
I agree on the message to Zeiss, as I\'ve done a similar trawl through the options. As a result of searching the web and quizzing a couple of forum members here, I have a CV Ultron 21 on its way for me to evaluate. It\'s most intractable downside seems to be its fixed lens hood, which prevents the use of grad filters, but if it proves itself optically, it may end up having a bit of surgery in due course with help from a competent engineering friend. I\'ll put up some examples as soon as I\'ve had a chance to put it through its paces - John
