Adam, that\'s brutal... but expected. How old is your lens and why are the screws loose already? I\'m finding some Leica lenses hold up better over time than others, before needing tightening. I suppose frequency of use is also a factor.
Gary - no color shift, no coding used. I tried the usual 11134 21/2.8 non-ASPH and it was too strong, resulting in cyan color shift. Maybe one of the other codes is OK, but I see no need for any. This is the most noticeable improvement over the previous version. The other appears to be better distortion correction. Otherwise, based on a quick comparison shoot that did not jump through all the hoops, I\'ve found results very similar for colour, contrast, CA and edge sharpness. When RF focused, the lens seems to be excellent in the central 2/3, with sharpness degrading somewhat in the outer zone. It might be a matter of instead focusing for the edges and seeing if the center will be sharp enough, but I haven\'t experimented with this yet. Central performance tops out by f/8 whereas edges improve at f/11, but at the cost of slight central diffraction degradation.
