Got some very brief hands-on time with both Batis today. Report here w/ comparison to the FE 28mm
Thanks Chad for samples, some of them reveal some things, which are not visible in Zeiss sample images. By any change could you show your sample photos with less processing? Never in my life I haven\'t seen as much noise from any A7-series camera this far, not even in night photos. Also some photos had some extreme weird CA correction, like done in 15-20 years ago (=gray all magenta and green??).
Really weird gray edge thing visible in most of your images (in various degrees, not as bad as this in others), example from Batis 25 - sample 001:
On some photos this horrible \"gray all edges between contrast\" wasn\'t turned on and there Batis 25 does have pretty ugly aberrations - from Batis 25 - sample 008...
If you had applied some other lens CA-correction it may have scaled R,G and B layers so that your \"correction\" actually causes the aberration to exist in images, which was not there in first place. Lloyd Chambers review this far doesn\'t indicate any issues like this. So either he has cherry picked super samples of these lenses and you had some non-working prototypes OR th processing applied caused those weird issues.
Due to this please repost without the ultra weird processing applied to the images if possible. Or alternatively upload RAWs to Dropbox or similar service.
PS. I\'m not much pixel peeper but these poke to my eye in after 0.1 second viewing the images.
