No hike at all John. I just zoomed in with my 200mm lens and used 1.4 TC so what you see is an image taken at just 280mm. The road I was standing on to take this shot is close to the mountain. Here is the road with some guanacos.
Not the best image but it gives you some idea how close is the mountain.
