I enjoy the RX1 so much that I have thought about selling it and getting the r.
A couple of points:
The first is that there is little difference in the raws. The big difference is in the JPEGs which are substantially crisper.
I shoot Raw + JPEG so that appeals to me.
The second thing to note is that the \"classic\" has a weak AA so you will get moire on occasion with it. That\'s why there is little difference in acuity in most cases.
I have a number of online friends that have owned both and there was some opinion that the \"classic\" had somewhat \"sweeter\" images.
I think it is a matter of taste and nothing more. I am happy to send you raws if you would like.
As you know - it is easy to soften an image but impossible to add detail that is not there. I think the r is a good choice.
Here is an example of heavy deconvolution sharpening with a RX1 file to show have much you can extract (over-extract).
