Re: Official: Canon 5DS, 5DS R and 11-24mm lens released!

And now, just for giggles, I\'m doing one at 60\" x 90\" at 300 ppi and cropping a letter sized section out of the same area and making a test print...

... looking at the resized letter-size imageat 50% on the screen while it prints. Still don\'t see any moire, though I see what I take to be some slight smearing at the edges of sharp color boundaries. and similar. I\'d tell you where they are, but you probably can\'t see them in the original image at 100%. (Look for blue road signs above the river along the highway just to the right of the ferris wheel.) OK, the print is about done...

OK.

If I handed you the letter-sized print cropped from the 30\" x 45\" image, very few would suspect that it is from such a large image. Most would probably think, \"Not a bad letter sized print of your photograph.\" If I handed you the letter sized print cropped out of the 60\" x 90\" image (e.g. - from a 5\' x 7.5\' print) you would notice the softness. But... I\'m still not seeing artifacts such as moire. I can see a bit of bleeding in a few spots where one color (say blue-green) is immediately adjacent to a different area. Not surprisingly, at this size I can see that the print is getting softer.

Whatever you think of the functionality of the camera or all the other stuff, even working from a jpg shot with an ultra-wide lens (which is contributing to the overall image quality), the 50MP sensor is capable of providing some remarkable image detail for those who might need it.
