Why not use the right tool for the job? If this is the only camera you have in your bag for professional use, you need to rethink your bag if you want a crop sensor, or lower resolution.


Nikon have been putting crop modes in the FX bodies for years. Comments based on the official press release and interviews by official Canon spokemen (CW) are quite appropriate IMO. Canon Ambassador, David Noton, who has been testing the 5DS did say in a Facebook comment that \"the proof is in the pudding, the results need to be seen to be believed\". I then asked him if that meant the 5DS is a direct and viable alternative (apart from the 14mp difference) for the D810. No answer as yet
