Finally added the Otus 85 to the 55 which I\'ve had the 55 for a year and the 85 for two months. Both are very fine lenses. They are sharp and detailed in a way unlike any other lenses I have or have used. I\'ve said before but its worth repeating that the Sigma Art advocates are quite right that their lens is very close in sharpness, but they miss the point that sharpness is only one of the qualities that sets these lenses apart. I doubt there are many who regret the purchase of either lens or didn\'t think they provide full value.
Black is black, white is white where every other lens renders a slightly greyed version of either. Shoot a backlit winter branch and you will find it is actually brown without the slightest CA/fringing.
Two things on the wish list: A better Zeiss lens cap and a truly high rez, low noise Canon body.
