Gregg - good start ! The biggest issues with macro are getting enough light and gettign enough DoF !
Stopping down and introducing a non-ambient light source (dual flash, spots, dual LEDs or even a natural-light-temperature torch !) will do wonders (if you don\'t want to get into stacking) and allow you to get to f8 or smaller.
