I thought it would be fun to compare the starburst of different lenses. While the lens by itself can\'t take all the credit, it\'s a big part of the starburst, and along with flare resistance it makes for a great effect.
My favorite is 16-35mm II, I like the effect from 24mm II as well, and I wish the 8-15mm fisheye had a more pronounced length to the starburst (and I am very happy with its flare resistance).
17-40mm I find very unforgiving with direct sunlight.
All of these are possible due to Live View, otherwise it\'s not safe to look through directly...
1) 8-15mm fisheye at 10mm
8-15mm fisheye at 12mm on 1D Mark IV
16-35mm II

5) 17-40mm at 17mm on 1D Mark IV and f/11
24mm II
24-70mm f/2.8 (version 1) at 42mm
70-200mm II at 200mm and f/16
70-200mm II at 200mm and f/16
10) 300mm f/4 IS
and which lens can do a starburst like this? 16-35mm II of course
