My good friends have a Wood Duck house on a tree in their yard with Eastern Screech Owls nesting in it. It was after dark when these three finally popped their heads out waiting for their supper to arrive with one of the adults. At first only two and then the third one squeezed his head through the hole also. I needed to use a flashlight to focus and a flash to take the photos, using the car for a blind.
