Re: Stupid Ken Rockwell may cost me a customer!

It\'s easy for someone who knows nothing about cameras/photography to be misled by someone who appears to know. Rockwell\'s main talent is popping to the top of a Google search and after that there\'s a pretty sharp drop-off in his competence level. I remember reading through some of his comments about the D200 back when it was new and being appalled by his dismissive attitude toward certain features: \"Don\'t worry about that, I never use it.\" Well what if I want to use it? Do I have to write and ask for permission?

Not saying his site is utterly useless, but there\'s so much misinformation and opinion masquerading as fact that I seldom waste any time trying to sift out the truth. To add injury to the insult, he apparently feels free to review equipment he\'s never used — not exactly an indicator of reliability.

You can try to explain this to your client, but if she\'s already had her mind poisoned by Rockwell\'s meanderings then she may just think you\'re being defensive and making excuses for your \"obsolete\" gear. It\'s not likely she could tell the difference between a shot made with a D100 from one made with a D4, but it wouldn\'t be helpful to point that out. If you\'re lucky, maybe this thread will fill up with everyone\'s favorite Rockwell-isms and you can send her a link.

Good luck.
