uhoh7 - thanks for your comments - I was very picky with my VC21/4 and after 3 attempts got a 4th copy that is very sharp - the first image below is at f8 with no cropping - it does not improve after f8 but is still very acceptable at f5.6 - I code it as 28mm/2.8 ASPH and have only very ocasionaly red edge problems

Both taken with M240 and CV21/4 at f8 - this little very cheap lens is great if you persevere until you get a good copy. I purchased a SEM21 last weekend - was rather shocked that once stopped down to f5.6 there is not a huge diference... but the SEM21 is a better lens being already perfect at f3.4
