When camping at Abraham Lake I had an idea of the photo where I would combine foreground ice with the starry sky. For two days the weather was bringing nothing but clouds, snow and darkness. The last night I woke up in the middle of the night to the calm and quiet weather. For the first time I was able to see some stars above the lake. Fast moving clouds opened for few minutes and I was able to capture this amazing show of lights. The glow in the sky comes from distant city and moon hidden behind the clouds.
Foreground shots were taken at dusk for better details in the ice.
Mountain and sky is one 30 seconds shot
