Contax G 45 works excellent on the A7 (tested and posted @ FM, corner sharpness excellent). And anything above should be just fine.
Some find focusing annoying, I dont. I have used G21/28/45 and some 90 on the NEX. Gears differs between adapters. I have a KIWI (mid prize) which is much smoother than the 1st generation cheapo Chinese I had before.
