For comparison I also included the Zeiss Alpha Vario-Sonnar 24-70/2.8 (VS* images).
So, amazing central detail (even with the wide angle lenses you can see the top of Wembley Stadium, 13 miles away) but also further confirmation of the problems with ray angles elsewhere in the image.
Later in the day I was about to borrow a 16-18-21mm TRI_ELMAR from Red Dot Cameras (http://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/, images labelled TRI*) which fared better.
So VG900 did better? That\'s not a good sign... Seems like my 21SEM and 28Cron are out
I guess we have to wait for the native Zeiss manual wide prime...
