Re: Official: Sony A7 and A7R Fullframe Mirrorless
Wow. 80!
I\'m number 5 at my Sony store; another store in the area had a great many more orders at the time I placed mine. I purposely picked a store with a shorter paid-up list, figuring the allocations would be spread.
I keep hearing locally that they are blown away by the ratio of A7r to A7 orders. I hope they / me / we all know what we are doing. I\'m not too worried, the A7r is replacing my D800 so I know what I\'m getting into, sensor wise.
Didn\'t ask what ration of A7 vs. a7R they had on pre-order, but agree with you that most will be disappointed when they realize lens limitations and moiré among, other issues, won\'t give them what they expect
Regarding our earlier comments on pre-payments for \"pre-orders\", it\'s not mercenary for a seller to favour those who put funds up front. After all anyone can walk in off the street and place a pre-order and unless there is at least some financial commitment it would be foolish of a store manager to take it seriously. With the exception of someone who pays the full amount up front, the only other criteria would be of known customers and their habits.
Perhaps we are being unfair to call this mercenary.
Cheers
