Windswept

I\'ve been starring at this image for months now, stumped on how to bring out the force of the wind, my fogged up glasses, and the cold that was pounding against me during a morning at Abraham Lake. This is the strongest wind I have felt outside of being in mexico during a hurricane, however it was almost impossible to bring that feeling out of my image. After scouting out this perfect windswept snow formation, I steadied myself on the steep cracked ice slope for 30 minutes. Not because I was unsure of what I was doing, but because I was trying to capture the very rare snow streams that ran across the ice. The area hadn\'t received snow in over a week, so they were few and far between even though I could have been blown over while standing. I finally got the perfect gust, snapped off a few quick shots, and packed up for the drive home. What stumped me the most was when I sat down and looked at the image the following day. The bright glacier fed ice completely took away the brutal feeling, and replaced it with a baby blue cuteness....So I shoved the image aside and worked on others first.

This was the very last shot of my trip, and after converting it to B&W I think it sums up the feeling of my morning well.

Thanks for any C&C!
