Robert, a suggestion when it comes to geese shooting: try to position yourself in their flight path and then aim for the head.
The same advice works for taking pictures of them too
Too funny Jools!...
Cam, Peter: Thank you...that 400mm f2.8 is a beauty and a beast (mostly beast). The photos coming in really cover the gamut of subjects and styles, which make for great viewing.
Saneproduction: The 200mm f1.8 is in a class of its own; thanks for sharing those images.
Peter: The CGIF are very impressive on my monitor...looks like it just got shot out of a cannon (no pun intended).
Jerry: Good to see you here!
John_T: Beautiful mountain snow scenes, with the zig-zag tracks of the down-hillers.
Jess (Photon): Enjoying the floral images also; great lensmanship
And many thanks to the rest of the posters...much appreciated here, so keep them coming!
I have a couple from today, from both ends of the distance scheme. The first group of Mayflowers that have bloomed were taken with a Voigtländer Braunschweig APO 105mm f4.5 lens, attached to a Canon FD Auto Bellows (coupled to 5DMkII with EdMika FD to EOS adapter). The lens is from the mid 60\'s, with a near-perfect circular iris. I\'ll post a photo of the setup if anyone is interested. The purple finch was shot with the EF 500 f4 L (Ver 1), which is a cake-walk compared to shooting with my long FD L manual glass.
Regards,
Edd
