Re: My Defective D7100?

Shot 1000+ frames of soccer this weekend with my 300 2.8 AFS MK II. AF seems a lot more accurate and faster than my old D7000 - very few out of focus shots. Shot some with the 1.3 crop mode as well and could not tell any difference in quality of output, though I have not done much pixel peeping on those.

Did run into buffer limitations a couple of times, something I rarely did with the D7000. With the AF locking onto everything though it was easy to do a bit more \"spraying\" than I did with my D7000.

All in all after just a weekend with the D7100 I am very happy with the upgrade over my D7000, as minimal as it might be. Shooting mostly sports and some wildlife the better AF system and the 1.3 crop mode are exactly what I want, while the buffer limit is not a deal breaker for my type of shooting right now. Want to try out the 1.3 crop with 1.4 and 1.7 TCs on the 300 2.8 this weekend to see how that combo works - if the AF keeps up to speed and IQ is still good, well that will be icing on the cake for me.
