the D7100 may provide you a whole lot more detail if you can\'t get close (e.g. wildlife).
Stop looking for blanket conclusions to complex questions. Also, the D7100 autofocus walks all over the D600, so where does your image quality go when you misfocus?
If you look at the specs the D7100 autofocus has to be better.
However, so far, I have not found it to be faster or more accurate than the D600.
And I still have not dialed in the White Balance which I am beginning to think is defective on my sample.
I may try shooting some little birds in flight today if I get time.
