Our master bath flooded so the room was a mess but it was the only place to try sole off cam lighting. I just cant see manual off camera flash being workable…. and sony doesn\'t have one yet that does automated do they?
its a real shame that bounce is not present…
this was manual with one ceiling fan light to the right and a 430 ex ii set to minimum output on the left ….which was basically pitch black… modified with a lamp shade i had nearby
Sony most certainly does have wireless TTL capability, in fact the technology originated in the Alpha system back in 1993 on the Maxxum 7xi. The RX1 should support wireless TTL but probably requires a controller on the camera rather than controlling via the pop-up, the manual is frustratingly non-specific about wireless mode.
So in theory I could test this by mounting my 580 ii to act as master only triggering a 430 ii. And should get ttl. Interesting. Obviously in practice one wouldn\'t use a huge flash or probably ir but as a test this should work.

Joe. Those are good shots and many people use cameras for shots of family etc. I need to look at the exif but were those shot with af or mf and like f8
