Picked up my SpeedBooster today. Cold and dark here as well, so please accept some boring tests.
Canon 40 mm 2.8 STM pancake. NEX 7.
Compared to CV Ultron 28 2.0 (Category 2).
Also compared to the 5DII.(Category 1)
All wide open, identical manual exposure. The 5DII was pushed 0.7 stops to get the same brightness.
Unsharpened 100% crops, developed in CaptureOne 6
Center first,
5DII best in contrast, SB best in resolution, the Ultron just can\'t keep up despite being three times as expensive as the 40 mm pancake.
Then corner (almost extreme corner).
Note the color cast with the Ultron directly on the NEX 7, and the heavy lateral CA and no worse vignetting with the SpeedBooster.
