I managed to motivate myself to get out in the cold and spend some time with my new D600. For this shot I was lying on the ice on a frozen creek after sunset with my 16-35 f4 VR trying to get some interesting shots of these ice crystals. By this late in the day the light was pretty flat, so I punched up the contrast and clarity in LightRoom to try to bring out a little more definition in the crystals; next time I will remember to bring a small reflector for subjects like this.
