Did you have an image already open in PS when you hit ctrl-J? Did you hold down ctrl and hit J while ctrl was held down? I\'m betting that is what you are doing wrong Let me know Charlie, I\'m happy to help.

Yep- I brought up an image as though I was going to edit it. Then I held down Ctrl and pressed J. Nothing.
Just did it three more times- nothing.

Okay how about this,is the layers palette visible? It won\'t necessarily be were it is in my screen shots, you can move it around. If you are not sure go to the top to the menu bar, click on Windows and find Layers in the dropdown. If it is not checked then the palette isn\'t visible and in that case click on Layers. Let me know how that turns out.
