Re: Best Alt Images, EVER! (before we all die)

Time marches on ... and things change.

The dynamic of the Alt Forum has definitely changed over the last year or so. As such, I haven\'t participated in it nearly as much as I once did. This thread (sans the political rhetoric, etc). was like a \"family reunion\" with some of the throwback members coming out in droves.

For me, it is really cool to see some of the other members that have also become \"less active\" in the Alt Forum resurface for this retro-thread. Cool to see the pics, but also really cool to see the collection of members reassemble. So sad, that people had to take a really good thing and \"jack it up\" with all the non-photography BS. Just because you have the right to do something, doesn\'t mean you should do it.

The spirit of FM\'ers has always historically been a good one ... and despite multiple members trying to give a nudge to keep things on track and in the spirit of FM ... others have been selfishly bent on exercising their rights to express themselves ... rather than focusing on how to be contributing to the spirit of a great thread that is rooted in the simplicity of our common passion for photography, in a great forum, on a great site. FM is only as great (or as divisive, selfish & petty) as we make it.

Mirror check ... what did I do to help or hinder the thread, the Alt Forum and FM community at large?

Paul ... great thread that brought out some really awesome stuff and some awesome FM\'ers I hadn\'t seen much of lately. Diggin\' the \"family reunion\" camaraderie from the \"old days\" vibe, as well as the mix of pics from everyone contributing their \"alt\" works.

The Mayan calendar perpetuates itself and is back at the start of a given cycle. A new dawn, a new day, a new year ... what will each of us do with it. Personally, I aspire to grow photographically / artistically / technically with the assistance from my generous fellow FM\'ers and am willing to contribute to the growth of others to the degree that I am able as reciprocal appreciation.

It will be good to look back at this thread in a year or so and see how my perspective of \"my best\" may change in time. Again, great thread ... let\'s put it back on track, and see if we can keep it their.
