Yes the Sigma will easily beat all the Canon 35mm lenses at f/5,6 also. The Sigma is better in the center and also in the corners/edges. It also have less Chromatic aberration than any of the Canon lenses. Both Roger Cicala and Lloyd Chambers diglloyd tests confirm this.
