Jerry, you\'ve got the green light for 6D, and that\'s excellent.
With some seed and nectar feeders you might be able to get bird shots using your 100L, and I am sure they will be da bomb. With some clever positioning and the birds getting habituated to your presence, much could be possible.
I think 6D will be very fast and powerful on focus acquisition with the center AF point. However, subsequent focus maintenance and tracking could be challenging, because one can not do the AF point expansion around the center point. One always has the option of using the auto AF pt. selection (all points), however, that has had a tendency to get you into weeds on past camera models.
