It\'s good to see Lars back, the resident Canon lemming. I have owned nothing but Canon products in my entire photography career. You don\'t announce a \"fix\" and then wait 6 months to release it. That\'s just stupid. The mere fact Canon screwed up this AF illumination issue in the first place, and then tried to slip it past early adopters, shows their overall lack of respect for its customers. Now, you may be able to wait for 6 months, probably because you\'re an amateur photographer and don\'t need or use your camera every day. But please don\'t elevate your knowledge and relevance in the world of photography to such a status that permits you to understand how I shoot OR act as if you understand how those who make a living with their camera(s) should act when a vendor (i.e. Canon) behaves badly in their HUMBLE opinion. Bulletin boards are for opining, not praising the virtues for a company that makes something that somehow makes us feel better.
