Sure some of the primes are better in the corners - I owned a 14mm II for a while, which was sharper in the corners but just not as flexible as a zoom. I couldn\'t justify owning both so I sold the prime.
The corners may not be perfect, but you can work around this. There is seldom important detail in the corner of a picture anyway.
Being a zoom, it\'s a very flexible lens, and I use mine for everything from landscapes to low-light dance floor shots.
