This shot looks great; I wouldn\'t have thought this lens would get a lot of use from you since you have the 28 cron? Any thoughts comparing the two?
I have been dragging the cron to hell and back WITH the hood on, which I now know is a nono---funny since the case call for the hood to on---- and the front half is a bit loose now, common i guess, and I am sending it off to DAG to be retightened. The old elmarit is good, but not like the asph version, which is fantastic, and not wildly expensive.
@jacob I keep trying to replace the 180 somehow because it\'s beefy, but it resists I did quite a bit of research when I choose a 200ish lens, and bottom line, the AIS ED is considered one of the very best lenses Nikon ever made. Mine is far from pristine--even has some coating spots on the front...but it kills. A good price would be 250.
My latest plan was to replace it with the contax 100-300, which is super heavy, but covers a big range:
It is really good for this sort of thing, but I have not been able to get great long range shots--however we\'ve been very smoky, so the jury is out.
