From reading the interview, I get Canon\'s real bread and butter is in there lenses they sell, thus the increase $$ on all there newer lenses. They know this, and that the masses are apt to buy more lenses.
Bodies are transitional, but lenses are collected and kept. I beleive Mo commented they sold 1 million in a year. Thats why there lenses are top priority, and bodies always leaving us wanting more.
