I know it has been posted before but I just can\'t help myself!!! I have always wanted to stick my R glass on my M bodies and now it has come.
Ok, back to earth. I love that feature of the new offerings but I think I will hold on to my M9. I like CCD\'s and it just looks like the trashed the layout of the body. It looks like they handed the M9 to a Chinese factory and told them, \"put a big screen and include video.\" I don\'t mean to be harsh but they more I look at it, I started noticing more and more things I love about my M9 and bodies older than it.
-That screen is a little much. Why not just lose the wheel in the right and such and putt 4 keys on it like a phase back?
-No frame lever on either of the new cameras. I understand it not on the \"budget\" model but the new \"M\" that is supposed to be the King? I guess there will be a new MP 18/24/etc.
-The more I think about it, this leaves one option, another M camera...the Leica M Classic. For the Leicaphile. No logo, so engravings, manual advance and a frame preview. $1500 extra.
I thought my M9 was going to look like an old dog left in the rain after this announcement but I\'m really happy I didn\'t act rash and sell it. The R-M adapter is great but it would be fun for 5 minutes for me. My canon is better suited.
I will wait until the news continues to roll out to see if I am swayed. Still think the M8/M9\'s are powerhouses.
