First because of size compromise purposes and then price.
The Nikon D600 with a 35 f1.8 is much cheaper and almost equal size if you have to use an external EVF...not to mention much much better performance and controls (yes i know the D600 is not out yet, but its almost certain)
The rumored D600 isn\'t even in the same universe of size as the RX1, even with the EVF. Plus, you can just keep the EVF in your pocket and use it when necessary. I rather enjoyed using the EVF on my NEX-5N.
