Marketing Strategy

I expect this post to be a little windy, but I would really really appreciate everyone\'s input.

I\'m working on starting up my photography business, but need some strategies on marketing. I just recently got a logo designed, so I\'m looking to have business cards produced and maybe print material. I\'ve scouted website templates, but I don\'t feel I\'m ready to create a website until I have more portfolio work to showcase.

Right now my main outlet is my facebook page. facebook.com/ryanyoderphotography I have a website domain at ryanyoderphotography.com, but I just have a under construction page and link to the facebook.

My targets of interests are commercial work - anything from advertising to architecture, headshots, and weddings. Commercial and headshots kind of go together, but I feel like I\'m coming out of left field with the weddings, and I\'m not sure if they should be marketed together. I love shooting weddings so it\'s definitely something I want to keep doing (only had one so far, but I have another in July). I haven\'t pushed my name out much so far for the commercial stuff. I\'m not all that interested in other portraiture, especially because my area is saturated with portrait photographers, but very few commercial. Commercial and headshots just spark my interest and I like doing that kind of thing. It\'s rewarding knowing my work can be used to sell a product or service or help promote someone.

So my question is should I have two different names, websites, or what? Have Ryan Yoder Photography where I only showcase commercial and headshots? And then maybe have Ryan Yoder | Wedding Photography where it\'s all about weddings. Have different business cards? different websites? My concern is that my markets are so different that unless I have a business card that only says Ryan Yoder Photography on it, I wouldn\'t want to hand one out to wedding people when it says commercial - headshots - weddings. Same with my business clients. They aren\'t going to care about weddings, visa versa.

Any suggestions? Does anyone else operate under two names or two markets? There\'s a photography studio in my town that does this. They market all their portraiture under a generic type name (since they actually bought out the portrait studio and name years ago), but they still operate their wedding only business under their name and as such have two websites. Just looking for ideas.

Thanks everyone
