These were taken with D800 1.5Crop mode on 600VR + 1.7TC. Images are at least 50% cropped. ( car window+ bean bag)

Below ISO 400 my D200 gives very similar IQ as long as I get the exposure perfect.
D800 in crop mode gives bigger files to work with. The noise is much less so I can shoot at higher ISO settings. The shadow recovery and the AF is better too.
Haven\'t had much time to play with D800 on 600VR without any TCs
