Sure, if you\'re doing that a lot - then gear up for it. Here we\'re talking about a few days back-packing and a few very minor stream crossings.

Your walking-stick, cheap-o mono-pod idea is a good one!

I recently ordered a few of these just for that. And I guess there\'s even cheaper ones if you don\'t need the small collapsibility.
