Peter: Thanks for the comments; I still have a place in my heart for the FD glass. The shot below is from the 400mm f2.8L, with the matched (2X-A) FD teleconverter attached, wide-open (the EXIF is only for the lens). It is a better combo than the 2X-B, with less veiling glare, and a bit more center resolution. I would only use it if truly F.L. limited; still nowhere near the resolution of the bare lens. At 800mm and f5.6, the focus point is a \"witch\" to nail down...
